The fire, between Pechey, Ravensbourne, Esk and Crows Nest continues across a 100km firefront.
It has officials concerned and roads closed there remained cut off on Thursday so burnt out trees could be cut down.
Another blaze is simmering in the Border Rangers, including Mount Barney, Mount Lindesay and Cunninghams Gap, and another on Moreton Island.
But firefighters have used the cooler conditions to back burn and get a stronger hold.
In the past fortnight across the state's emergency bushfire zones, 20 homes have burnt to the ground and entire suburbs have been evacuated and left in limbo.
Meanwhile fire crews were flown in from across the country as chaos raged on the ground.
On Thursday, temperatures finally eased, although a high and very high fire danger remains for large parts of Queensland through the rest of the week.
A state of fire emergency declared when the fire crisis began has been lifted for 36 of the 42 local government areas affected.
Strict fire bans remain in place for the Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley, Somerset, Ipswich, Southern Downs and Scenic Rim.
