"He'll definitely be missed, he missed with a torn quad in an interrupted first half of the year, but he played some really good footy in the second half," coach Marc Almond said.
The on-baller arrived as a three-time league medallist, including the Northern FL's division two in 2013.
"He's hoping to get into the police force and he's got a young family, who is based in Melbourne," Almond said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Rohan is contracted for next year and while we knew he was going to Melbourne, the plans were to travel back but his circumstances have changed, so we're happy to support his decision.
"As disappointing as it is to lose him, we hope Rohan would play here if he was to return to the region."
Meanwhile, it's uncertain if Shane Tregear will return.
"Shane wants to come back, but is expecting his first child so it would be on reduced games," Almond said.
