District will be led by Yackandandah skipper Bailey Glass, who will captain at representative level for the first time.

Team manager Ash Sutherland has full faith in the young Roo.

"We're really looking forward to throwing a young fella in to give him some experience with a few older heads around to help guide him," Sutherland said.

"We're really looking forward to testing Bailey out by making most of the tactical moves.

"I think he's been doing a great job at Yack and I'm keen to see what he can do to develop his leadership."

District's side has had virtually no experience on the Holbrook wicket, but features six of the competition's top 10 run-scorers.

"From what I've heard it's quite low and slow, so I'm hoping the Yack boys (Glass, Cooper Garoni and Cam Evans) can step up because it sounds a bit similar to their deck," Sutherland said.

"We're looking for some good, patient batsmen and bowlers who bowl at the stumps."

Hume captain Tom Simmons has been thrilled with the response from his side.

"It's good on our half, everyone wants to play rep cricket, which is a positive," he said.

"You don't get that too often, but everyone has been pretty happy and keen to jump on board.

"The Holbrook wicket has never been the best, obviously a lot of our boys know how to play it and hopefully it's some sort of advantage for us, but you never know."

CAW Hume claimed bragging rights earlier this year when it defeated CAW District by eight wickets at John Flower Oval in a Twenty20 clash.
