A Giants Academy graduate and former Murray Bushranger, Sproule was picked up in the 2017 rookie draft as an academy selection and made his long-awaited AFL debut in round 22 this year.
Drafted as a key forward, Sproule showed his versatility for the Giants in the NEAFL this year, playing a number of roles, including spending time in the midfield.
At 21, Sproule will have another opportunity to hone his forward craft as he looks to break back into the AFL ranks.

It was a lean year at the draft for the Border region with a number of hopefuls overlooked.
Albury and Murray Bushrangers big man Ben Kelly was touted an outside chance, but wasn't taken in the national, pre-season or rookie drafts.
Will Christie, Will Chandler, Jimmy Boyer and Sam Durham were others from the Bushrangers vying for a spot on a list.
Delisted Magpie Sam Murray also nominated for the draft, but didn't receive a lifeline, while younger brother, Nick, and Wangaratta Rovers teammate Nathan Cooper also didn't find a home at an AFL club.
Lachlan Ash was the lone draftee from the Murray Bushrangers after he was taken by the Giants with pick four on Wednesday night.
