Emergency services were called to Lockharts Gap Road about 9.45am on Friday.
The rider had lost control of his bike and veered about eight to 10 metres down an embankment.
CFA high angle rescue crews had been called to the area but the man died at the scene.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by members of the Wodonga Highway Patrol.
The road remains closed between Sandy Creek and the Omeo Highway, with diversions in place.
The crash took the road toll to 244, up from 195 to the same time last year.
