I'Anson ripped through the CAW District lineup to finish with figures of 5-16 from 11 overs as the visitors were bowled out for 131 in the 39^th over.

Eskdale's Andrew Mansale provided the only major contribution, hitting 10 boundaries in his knock of 59.

Despite the Vanuatu captain's efforts, CAW District were short of a match-winning total.

CAW District struck early with the ball as Aaron Hoskin bowled Mark Kreutzberger for nine, but Hume got back on track through an excellent partnership of 51 between Perryman and Todd Hannam.

Perryman was eventually dismissed for 40 and Hannam made 22, while some late hitting from I'Anson (27 not out) saw CAW Hume over the line with just under 10 overs to spare.

Chris Hartshorn was the pick of the bowlers for CAW District with 4-19 from 12 overs.

"The wicket fell apart towards the end, there wasn't much left of it to be fair, but the boys hung tough and got it done," CAW captain Tom Simmons said.

"Darcy (I'Anson) bowled really well early and had the ball moving around a fair bit, so he would have been hard to play.

"Everyone bowled well to be honest.

"Ed Perryman went on to make 40-odd, it was a really good knock and he probably set it up for us to be honest.

"Darcy hit a few good shots towards the end to finish it off and we got there comfortably in the end, but we never felt comfortable if that makes sense."

Rain interrupted the early stages of the CAW Hume innings, but both sides returned to the field and played through constant light showers for the remainder of the contest.

"I was pretty happy to lose the toss because I wasn't sure what to do straight up," Simmons said.

"They won the toss and said they'd bat and we got through with the ball with no rain, but as soon as we got them out it started trickling.

"It stayed pretty constant throughout our innings and it got pretty tough for them to bowl in, but it doesn't make it much easier to bat either."

CAW Hume will now take on Wagga at Wagga next Sunday, with the winner to meet CAW Provincial in the New Year for the right to hold the O'Farrell Cup over winter.

"We mightn't have Darcy next week because I'm pretty sure he's got another cricket commitment, but I'll take what we've got here," Simmons said.

"I think we've got a pretty good squad, the boys get along well and play good cricket, so there's no reason to change it."
