All clubs were represented, including Bullioh, which had unsuccessfully applied to join the Tallangatta league in 2020.

While the draw is yet to be released, one of the talking points was the introduction of double-headers.

Option one is to reverse the season 2019 draw as per previous years, but consideration is being given to holding a number of double-header games during the season.

The draw is expected to be finalised by the end of December.

Clubs voted earlier in the season to continue the league until the end of 2020 with only senior football, while an under-14 competition will go ahead despite only having four teams this year.

Several changes to the competition were approved on the night, the most significant being senior football matches moving from 16 players to 18 players on the ground, with four players on the bench.

An additional two spots will be permitted on the interchange to homegrown players who are under the age of 17 years and registered with the club.

On the netball front, it was proposed to drop D grade because junior players were doubling up to fill teams, but clubs voted to retain it.

Five of the six clubs have held annual meetings and appointed coaches or caretaker coaches.

Border-Walwa is yet to hold its meeting due to a lack of a quorum at the first attempt, but remain committed to season 2020 with a caretaker coach in place.

The 2020 UMFNL office bearers are as follows:

President - Gordon Nicholas, vice-president - Mont Waters, junior vice-president - Jonothon Pole, financial officer - vacant, Committee members - David Colbert, Brad Jarvis and Craig Sheather.
