THE Ovens and Murray league is hopeful of announcing its inter-league coach before Christmas. After several weeks of speculation regarding the future of inter-league, the O&M confirmed yesterday that it will play the Goulburn Valley league on May 23. The venue for the matches which will also includes under-18 football and both open and under-17 netball is yet to be finalised. IN OTHER NEWS Goulburn Valley will be the host league. The league is on the lookout for a new coach after Jon Henry announced he would be stepping down in August after four years at the helm. Chris Kennedy, Dean Stone and Dean Harding have all been sounded out as possible replacements. "Our priority was first making sure there was inter-league before we started to look for a coach," league chairman David Sinclair said. "We have got a couple of people in mind. "We are hoping to make the coaching announcement before Christmas."
