Jamaica Blue in Myer Centrepoint had been closed for about a week, with two people observed inside working on laptops during this period.
A Jamaica Blue spokeswoman yesterday confirmed the cafe would not remain shut but would be operated by the company, not an individual franchisee at this stage.
"The Jamaica Blue Albury café at Myer Centrepoint will reopen and commence trading on Saturday, December 7, 2019, and will be operated by the franchisor in accordance with its lease obligations," she said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We look forward to reopening, welcoming back our loyal Jamaica Blue customers and plan to continue to employ the current staff where possible.
"And of course we will be serving our award-winning signature blend coffee together with a great new summer menu."
Foodco Group, which owns the franchise, has been advertising online for a general manager, cooks, baristas and "cafe all-rounders" at Jamaica Blue Albury, with full-time, part-time and casual positions available.
The Albury site is also listed as an existing regional cafe for sale on the Jamaica Blue franchise website.
It is described as a 115sq m shop near the entrance of a centre that includes Myer, Woolworths and more than 50 speciality stores.
