Five men forced their way into an Albury home early Saturday morning, with one of them then assaulting the occupant with a box cutter knife and kicking him in the head.

Murray River Police District officers are appealing for information about the aggravated break and enter, which occurred about 3am at a Thurgoona Street house.
Police said the victim heard a knock at his front door and upon opening it, was confronted by five unknown men.

All Caucasian in appearance and wearing hooded jumpers, the men forced their way in before one of them assaulted the occupant.
They stole a number of items including house keys, a mobile phone, a laptop, computer tablet and red backpack before leaving.
The man contacted neighbours for help who then took him to Albury hospital for treatment.
His injuries included lacerations to his hand, head and elbow.
Officers went to the hospital to begin inquiries.
