Having released her first EP just weeks ago, Knight said she looked forward to playing some gigs on the Border throughout the summer.
The former Catholic College Wodonga student said she wanted to take a gap year this year to focus solely on developing her music.
"The EP has been the real highlight of the year," she said.
The self-titled EP is a collection of five songs, drawing inspiration from Knight's past four years.
Knight said her pop-rock brand of music had an energetic vibe to it.
It's all the more impressive when you consider Knight's one-man-band approach.
"I wrote all the songs and I played all the instruments on the tracks; bass, drums, guitar and keyboard," she said.
"I have always loved playing drums for fun!"
Growing up at Staghorn Flat where she is still based, Knight said she was always surrounded by music in her family.
She said her dad's side of the family was very musical.
"I have been singing my whole life," Knight said.
"I picked up the guitar when I was about eight.
"My dad played a bit of guitar and he showed me some chords, but I'm self-taught."
OTHER ENTERTAINMENT NEWS:
Knight said she always had access to musical instruments.
"We have a music shed and we always had lots of instruments in there," she said.
"There are guitars - acoustic and bass, piano and drums.
"I guess I just developed an interest in instruments over time."
Inspired by musicians such as Pink, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and The Aces, Knight said she had a long list of inspirational artists.
"I have always focused on strong female artists," Knight said.
"I really look up to them and they've definitely inspired my style."
Knight said she would start a Media and Communications Degree at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne early next year.
It will focus on advertising and content creation, complementing her musical career.
"I have always loved video," she said.
Chelsea Knight's new self-titled EP is available to download on all major music platforms.
