EARLIER: A 31-year-old man accused of forcing his way into an Albury unit and stabbing the occupant several times in arms and head, will face court on Thursday.
In a statement New South Wales Police said the male resident sustained deep lacerations to his right hand, both arms and the back of his head.
The injured man attended Albury hospital, where police were notified of the incident.
Police will allege the 31-year-old man stole electrical good and a backpack before fleeing the unit.

A crime scene was established at the unit and officers attached to Murray River Police District commenced an investigation.
On Tuesday, about 2pm, a man allegedly stolen a white Holden Berlina from a licensed premises on Kiewa Street, Albury.
Following extensive inquiries, police located and arrested a 31-year-old man on Wednesday during a vehicle stop on Kiewa Street, Albury.
He was taken to Albury Police Station, where he was charged with the following offences:
- take and drive conveyance without consent of owner;
- two counts of larceny;
- use vehicle with unauthorised number plate;
- goods in personal custody suspected being stolen;
- drive motor vehicle during disqualification period;
- specially aggravated enter dwelling with intent to wound;
- wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm; and
- use etc offensive weapon in company with intent to commit indictable offence.
The man was refused bail and is due to face Albury Local Court on Thursday.
