Now 12 months later, Wangaratta Council has awarded a contract for $1.36 million to Yackandandah-based company Nelmac to construct two new bridges.
They will replace the Kay's Road bridge over Hodgson Creek in Tarrawingee and Farmer's Road bridge over Hodgson Creek in Everton Upper.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"These bridges were totally destroyed in the flooding event we had a while go," the council's infrastructure services director Alan Clark told this week's meeting.
"Before we can go ahead, we have to get Department of Treasury and Finance approval because most of this money is funded out of the emergency funds."
