Excell Gray Bruni has beaten two other contenders for the Kerr Road works in Thurgoona originally budgeted at $3.245 million with the successful bid being $37,500 more favourable than the next tender received.
The latest stage centres on the intersection with Thurgoona Drive with the scope of works including construction of a roundabout and reconstruction of 500 metres of associated roads.
The water main construction within the contract also forms part of a greater network of future water mains which will deliver high-quality water to the Thurgoona-Wirlinga area.

Works are scheduled to be completed in the current financial year with Excell Gray Bruni predicting the project can be completed eight weeks earlier than original estimates.
The company completed the High, South and Bond streets reconstruction in central Wodonga and present commitments includes Greta Road roundabout project in Wangaratta which is nearing completion.
The Kerr Road contract was awarded at the same meeting where councillors voted to make Excell Gray Bruni also the preferred contract for the next stage of the Wagga Road upgrade valued at more than $4 million.
Council senior management is entering into talks with Excell Gray Bruni about its bid before formally awarding the contract.
The works will be from Kaylock Road to Barlow Street with council able to combine two stages after receiving additional grant funding.
The scope of works include kerb and splitter islands at McDonald Road, Dick Road and Barlow Street intersections and installation of centre islands with tree planting and landscaping.
Excell Gray Bruni, as part of its original submission, stated it could finish the works by May next year.
Meanwhile, the council's local traffic committee has recently re-visited the contentious pedestrian safety improvements and timed parking changes in Swift Street.
The committee has endorsed plans for the installation of a raised pedestrian crossing in Swift Street linking the Wilson Street carparking and Albury Entertainment Centre.
Also, parking in Swift Street, between Kiewa and Olive street, will also change from two hours to one hour.
The possibility of making Macauley Street one way, in a southerly direction, between Swift and Dean streets was also raised at the meeting.
Cr Murray King said such a change would result in additional on-street parking.
