Bijan Johnson will join the Border outfit from Adelaide, having spent time with NBL outfit Adelaide 36ers as a development player the past two seasons.
The 6'0 point guard also played with North Adelaide Rockets in the South Australian Premier League last season where he averaged 15 points, three rebounds and four assists.
He played in the Queensland Basketball League with the Logan Thunder prior to that.
Johnson is regarded as a quick and talented guard who is an excellent offensive threat and elite at getting into the lane and putting pressure on the defence.
He has the ability to score, but can also bring his teammates into the game with his creativity and passing and also prides himself on the defensive end of the floor - a key aim for the Bandits in 2020.

Defensively is where his greatest attributes can lie and his ability to get in lanes, pressure the ball, cause turnovers and apply the clamps on opposition players is a real strength.
Johnson comes to the club highly recommended as both a player and person by his current coach Joey Wright from the 36ers, who praised his developing game and maturity on the court over the last two seasons, especially his leadership and ability to run a team improving year on year.
The most praise was held for his tough-mindedness, defensive abilities and his elite speed and explosiveness, along with his ability to play in transition and compete at a high level.
Bandits coach Brad Chalmers welcomes the signing to help provide the team with a tough-nosed and defensive-minded player that can impact both ends of the court.
"I believe 'BJ' can really have an impact next year in NBL1, he is 22 years of age and just starting to figure it all out and under Joey Wright's tutelage you can see the improvement in his play but also his maturity and understanding of the game and where he needs to get better," Chalmers said.
"He can be an NBL player in the future, and will be one of the best defenders in the league next year and we expect him to compete for the Defensive Player of the Year award for the league.
"We also will look for him to work on his leadership and ability to run a team, and part of our role is to help guys continue to work on their games whilst here.
"From my conversations with him, he is really hungry to do well and understands what we need from him, so we are excited to get him around our group and he seems like a very humble and respectful young man who is up for the challenge and to do well for the team."
Johnson will arrive in March to begin pre-season with the squad
