Rose crosses to the kennel from Mansfield and won Corowa-Rutherglen's best and fairest in 2017.
The highly-rated midfielder is set to bolster an onball division already considered the best in the competition comprising coach Brett Doswell, Jayden Kotzur, Sam Cross, Michael Rampal and Zach Gibbons.
Doswell said Rose would inject some leg speed into the Bulldogs' midfield.
"Brent will slot into the midfield and on a wing and add some pace which is exactly what we were after," Doswell said.
"He is obviously a handy player, having won a best and fairest in the O&M and represented the Riverina league.
"Brent is good mates with Jesse Johnston and trained with us a few times this year.
"He was close to joining us but decided to see the season out with Mansfield."

He also played for Narrandera in the Riverina league where he represented the competition.
Doswell confirmed five of the Bulldogs' premiership stars that trounced Barnawartha by 71-points in this year's decider had either departed the club or retired.
Youngster Cody Mannagh has crossed to Lavington.
Doswell said Josh Maher who was best-on-ground in the decider and Matt Fowler had retired.
The premiership coach said the chasing pack headed by Barnawartha, Kiewa-Sandy Creek and Tallangatta had certainly narrowed the gap on the reigning premier after recruiting well.
"Both Tallangatta and Kiewa-Sandy Creek have been able to land some key signings from Wodonga," he said.
"You'd think Barnawartha will also improve after signing a couple of handy players.
"Chiltern is a bit of an unknown at the minute, big Ricky (Whitehead) is a massive loss.
"Hopefully we can recruit a couple more so we can stay in touch. It's going to be a lot more competitive."
