NSW Police said the body of a man was located near Pebbly Beach just after 9am Tuesday.
He is yet to be formally identified and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
The man, 23, was seen swimming across the river at Tocumwal, 80km south-east of Deniliquin, about 4pm on Sunday when he went under and did not resurface.
NSW Police thanked all the agencies that assisted in the search including Victorian Police Divers, NSW Maritime, NSW Marine Rescue and the State Emergency Service.

EARLIER: A search is due to resume Monday morning for a man missing in the Murray River at Tocumwal.
NSW Police said the man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was seen swimming across the river about 4pm on Sunday when he went under and did no resurface.
Police and State Emergency Service volunteers, assisted by Marine Rescue from Moama, searched the river and river banks for the man without success.
The search was suspended about 9pm Sunday.
