The lightly raced four-year-old has a tendency to miss the score-up and is yet to get away cleanly in five career starts.
Brown who trains and drives the gelding, said Jimmylesurf who will contest the $4590 HRNSW Rewards Series Heat, (1770m) had plenty of natural ability. .
"If he does everything right he is as good as any as his rivals," Brown said.
"But it is a big if.
"I drive the horse myself because most other drivers would struggle to get him around the track.
"The frustrating part is on ability he is probably as good as any horse that is going around tonight.
"He got fired up in the lead last-start and ran a 58.5 first-half which was way too quick to sustain.
"Hopefully he can settle tonight from a second row draw."
