The Border event, held on Gateway Lakes, attracts approximately 600 paddlers and up to 2000 spectators each year.
Teams made up of local businesses, community organisations and schools are expected to battle it out on the water, with organisers currently calling for team registrations.
ALSO IN SPORT:
Teams can be entered into one of three categories- juniors for school age teams between 10 to 18 years of age, intermediate for less experienced teams and premier for experienced dragon boat racers.
Each team is to be comprised of 10 paddlers and a drummer, with Brave Hearts to supply an accredited sweep to steer the boat.
Albury-Wodonga's Brave Heart Dragon Boat club originated as a breast cancer survivor's project of Brave Hearts on the Murray with the day aiming to raise awareness for local cancer support groups, as well as the sport of dragon boating.
This year's event will also include a special remembrance ceremony in the afternoon to commemorate those touched by the diagnoses of cancer.
Proceeds made from the day will go towards supporting the charity.
Registrations are due by the 22nd of January, with the event scheduled to be held on Sunday, 22nd of March.
