"The room here at the Commercial Club is probably one of the best in the southern hemisphere," Australian Billiards and Snooker Council president Frank Dewens said.
"It's got 10 tables and there's only two other similar venues in the country, there's one in Victoria with eight tables and there's another in South Australia with 12."
Albury will host the Australian Junior Billiards, Snooker and Pool competitions over the next fortnight.
Billiards and snooker started on Sunday and will continue until next Sunday, with pool scheduled for the second week.
