Tennis Australia chief Craig Tiley confirmed the no-show for Court during the presentation ceremony of the Daphne Akhurst cup which Court won 11 times between 1960 and 1973.
"She's one of the icons of sport in Australia and she's going to be recognised as such," Tiley said.
"We've spoken to her about what the activities are that we're going to do, but some of them are a surprise as well."
Tennis Australia has repeatedly distanced itself from Court's ongoing opposition to same-sex marriage.
Another Australian tennis great Rod Laver was similarly feted last year, but didn't present the trophy to the men's singles championship winner.
