Fire has come within metres of destroying two properties in Carboor, with 125 firefighters narrowly managing to save the homes.

A blaze flared up about 10.20pm on Wednesday and burnt through 150 hectares before being contained.
The blaze came within a kilometre of the township.
Outbreaks are still occuring within containment lines.
CFA senior station officer Craig Houlahan said a large number of firefighters remained on the scene and urged residents to be vigilant.

"It reached the edge of Carboor," he said.
"Crews worked through all night on active fire to prevent any outbreaks.
"It was right on the edge of the properties.
"It's virtually burnt right up to the homes."
Mr Houlahan said crews would remain in the area "for the foreseeable future".
The blaze occured around Whorouly-Carboor Road.
"We've had dozers and graders in there putting in primary and secondary control lines," he said.
"They'll be strengthened during the day to try to prevent any further outbreaks.
"The fire activity that was witnessed last night is very active fire with southerly winds during the night with a high relative humidity.
"It just proves how dry the fuel is.
"We still need the public to remain vigilant and to call in if they see a fire."
A watch and act message was issued for Bobinawarrah, Buffalo Creek, Buffalo River, Carboor, Carboor East, Carboor Upper, Dandongadale, Kneebones Gap, Markwood, Meadow Creek, Merriang, Merriang South, Mount Buffalo, Myrtleford, Nug Nug, Whorouly, Whorouly East and Whorouly South.
Fire activity is expected to increase on Thursday and Friday as temperatures increase.
