And that has been the exact response from the Border community - to rally together and help those affected by the fires and those who continue to fight them.

Fundraisers are popping up every day with businesses, community groups and individuals putting their hand up to raise money or collect donations.

But two major donation points in Albury continue to receive donations for both people and animals impacted by the Upper Murray Fire.

Lavington Rural Fire Brigade continues to be a hub for donations for communities like Corryong, Cudgewa, Jingellic and Walwa who are cut off from supplies due to the fires and for all the firefighters battling the fires.

Their latest update yesterday called for new three or four-burner barbecues, Coca-Cola cans, cool towels or ice towels as well as vouchers and money donations.

NSW RFS public response officer Brian Millar said the work the Lavington brigade was doing was "invaluable".

"They are just incredible and we have been seeing the donations come as far as Jingellic - they are powering the communities," he said.

RSPCA Albury Volunteer Branch has been "overwhelmed" by the donations dropped off for the animals impacted by fires here and on the NSW coast.

"Our branch is currently acting as a collection centre for all animal related donations in kind and in cash," a spokesperson said.

The branch has been inviting any shelter, rescue agency, vet, relief centre or individual who requires supplies to drop in to the Hume Street branch between 10am to 2pm to collect items.

A Wodonga business owner is calling on others to get on board a major fundraising day for the firefighters on Friday.

Amazing Coffee at Arnold's owner Dan Findlay hopes other businesses will also donate their day's takings or match his donations on the day.

"I just had to do something," he said.

"We have only been open five weeks but we want to help out and we have bands on board to play throughout the day.

"Whether people just come down for a coffee or to listen to some great local music - every bit counts.

"And if businesses want to get involved they can contact me on our Facebook page.

"Let's band together."

Mr Findlay hopes to raise in excess of $100,000.

"All proceeds from the day, including our day's takings will be donated to our local CFA and RFS crews," he said.

"We are also offering free coffees and drinks for anyone volunteering in the fires as well - we just want to help any way we can."
