The widow of firefighter Sam McPaul, who died fighting the Green Valley Talmalmo fire on December 30, was on everyone's mind as hairdressers, clients and small businesses came together for the fundraiser at Boudoir Hairdressing.
Director Lia Larsen said the "devastation" of Mrs McPaul's story "really hit home" for her.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"I just wanted to help her in anyway I could, I thought about sending her a voucher or a day package but speaking to other hairdressers we thought we could come together and donate everything to her," she said.
"Nine hairdressers from three different salons are here and we have seen around 60 clients with all proceeds going to Megan.
"Local businesses also donated goods for us to sell as well.
"We haven't counted our final tally but we are very close to $5000."
