Around 65 referees and 27 referee instructors piled into the Scots School Albury on Sunday ahead of the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup on the Border.

The day long training camp aimed to get referees from around the country, as well as some from New Zealand and Fiji, ready to tackle the under-14, 16 and 18's games this week.
FIBA Oceania referee manager Albert Joseph has been running the program on the Border for over a decade and said he'd seen the referees take a lot away from the training.

"The concept of this particular camp is that it provides development all the way through," Joseph said.
"There's development for the referees and the referee instructors, so we're running a two tier program.
"As they gain more experience we go into more depth, it's a real tailored program."
With the pace of the game constantly evolving, Joseph said it's important for referees to stay on top of changes.
"With the evolution of the game now and the speed that's involved we have to continually change our training technique with the referees so they get the latest contemporary information that comes directly from FIBA," he said.
"We try and build teamwork and focus on communication as well."
Play gets underway for the Cup on Monday.
