The combination of Duane Crow, Andrew Hirst and Norm Honey proved too strong for Howlong's Phil Slater, John Boyd and Rob McConnell, winning the open decider, 25-20.
It was a close contest for the majority of the afternoon as the two sides went end for end.
Crow opened up a 5-1 lead after four ends, but five of the next six went Slater's way to make it 11-7 after 10.
The Hopper trio clawed their way back with a three and a four in the next three ends and levelled the scores at 15-apiece on 15 ends.
ALSO IN SPORT:
Slater edged in front, 17-16, after 17 ends before Crow's side took six of the next seven ends to lead 25-19 with one to play.
Howlong won the final end, but couldn't make up the deficit, as the North Albury side posted a 25-20 victory.
Crow reached the final with a convincing 28-13 result against Culcairn's Terry Hensel, Darryl Lawson (sub for Brian Watson) and Phil Lee, while Slater toppled Lavington's Darcy Burge, David Warford and Brian Jenkins, 25-16.
The president's reserve triples final was an all North Albury affair with Mark Mulcahy, Robert Unsworth and Wayne Price taking on Max Duncan, Bob Geddes and Richard Delaney (sub for Lloyd Ronan), and it followed a similar path.
Mulcahy opened up a 6-1 lead after three ends, but five shots on the next end drew Duncan's team level.
Ends continued to be split with Duncan leading by one after 15 ends, 14-13.
His side stretched its lead to 16-13 on the next end, before Mulcahy's side got on a roll to win the next five ends and take a handy 23-16 buffer into the final stages.
A three on the 23rd end took Mulcahy's lead to nine shots and Duncan could only manage a single on the 24th end.
The last end wasn't required to be played as the eight-shot lead (26-18) couldn't be caught.
Mulcahy won the inaugural president's reserves triples event with Price and Gary Webb last year.
North Albury's Bernie Mahlo, Clarrie Klepiak and Graeme Wake will represent the district at zone level as the only senior triples entry.
District action continues on Sunday with the semi-finals and finals of the open, president's reserve and senior fours to be played at Henty.
