Mittagundi Festival, Yackandandah Sports Park, Saturday, January 18, 12.30pm to 11pm
Live music, dancing, eating, talking, learning and camping will help celebrate the work of Mittagundi Outdoor Education Centre. For more than 40 years, the not-for-profit organisation in Glen Valley has given young people the chance to experience simple living and the High Plains. The festival, Mittagundi's main fundraising event for the year, has been relocated to Yackandandah owing to the present fire situation. Tickets cost $40 adults, $25 concession and under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. Bookings at mittagundi.org.au.

Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup, Lauren Jackson Sports Centre, Albury, Saturday, January 18
The final day of the Border's annual basketball showcase promises plenty of action from some of the country's best young players. Held since 1985, the cup has hosted more than 90 players who have gone on to represent Australia or New Zealand internationally. The 2020 event expected more than 750 players, coaches and officials to take part, with the competition attracting about 1600 visitors to the region.

The late Jack and Stella Lee's private museum, the culmination of a passionate hobby, will be auctioned off on Sunday. Built up over half a century, the collection includes a range of items such as Furphy tank ends, war memorabilia and vintage kitchenware. The couple's children say the auction will be an emotional occasion, as the museum has brought much joy.

Regional Australia's premiere dance competition reaches its final as the young competitors perform for a jury of dance professionals. With prize money totalling more than $15,000, the event attracts Australasia's most promising young dancers.
Bushfire Appeal
Rotary Market, Yarrawonga Showgrounds, Sunday, January 19, 8am to noon
More than 170 stalls of all varieties have booked for the monthly Yarrawonga Mulwala Rotary Club market. The club will donate all profits from the day to the District 9790 bushfire appeal. Cash donations will also be accepted at various points around the venue.
Pooch Parade
Dogs Day Out, Summer Place, QEII Square, Albury, Saturday, January 18, 9am to 11am
This morning of canine activities will include a free obedience class, an agility course and a pet-inspired story time. Participants can drop in and out through the event, which is hosted by Murray Art Musuem Albury. People are asked to ensure their pets are on-leash when arriving.
