Hundreds of emergency service personnel are gathering in Holbrook this morning to farewell Samuel McPaul, the firefighter who died while battling the Green Valley fire on December 30.
The 28-year-old's funeral was due to be held at the Holbrook Sports Stadium from 10am.
The Border Mail did not attend the funeral service, as the family and Rural Fire Service requested media stay away.
RFS members and other emergency workers were asked to wear full operational uniform with medals.
