Dogs Day Out saw up to 80 pooches and their owners practise their social and agility skills with a free class and obstacle course.
The morning linked into Murray Art Museum Albury's Summer Place outdoor installation and the current exhibition Pets, which explores the relationships between animals and their owners.
Urban Canines' Gail Boyd, who led the socialisation class, said all dogs could be taught these skills.

"We're not talking hours, we're talking, like, five minutes a day doing a bit of work with your dog is going to get the results," she said.
"We're just wanting to get people to learn and engage with their dogs and have fun doing it."
Miss Boyd said Dogs Day Out was a first, although Urban Canines had previously held street walks and Christmas walks.
"People can see a great group of dogs out that our friendly and sociable and just enjoying life, it's nice to see the smiles on their faces," she said.
