Murray pocketed $105,430 on his European Tour debut after carding impressive rounds of 67, 72, 70 and 69 (278).
He finished nine shots behind winner Lee Westwood.
Murray said he was pleased to perform well in the biggest tournament of his career.
"What an awesome week over in Abu Dhabi," Murray said.
"We had a ball."
World number one Brooks Koepka and 2017 US Masters champion Sergio Garcia were among the star-studded field.
Murray has started his professional career strongly with the 22-year-old taking out the New Zealand Open by two strokes in March.
He collected $211,724 in prizemoney.
Murray won the WA Open as an amateur.
