A team of Border high school students will represent their school and country at an international robotics event in the United States after winning a national competition.

Ten year 9 and 10 Wodonga Middle Years College students will travel across the world to Louisville, Kentucky, for the VEX EDR World Robotics Championship.
Luke Hanlin, 14, said in competitions two teams create an alliance and work together to get as many points as possible in two minutes.

"It was pretty amazing [when we won], both teachers with us cried they were so happy, it was great," he said.
Technology teacher Mick Rogers said they were seeking community support to help fund the student's trip to the championships.
"It's pretty massive," he said.
"They have done exceedingly well.
"The excellence award is the highest award that can be handed out to any robotics team, it covers basically the whole robotics program, so it's a huge nod to Wodonga Middle Years. To get that high an honour on a national level is pretty incredible."
