SDA Services senior consultant Greg Barry visited Albury last week to meet with the committee, which formed out of a community consultation last year on housing within the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
Mr Barry, who has a legal background and is the father of a disabled adult, helps NDIS participants achieve approvals for Specialist Disability Accommodation funding to move into more suitable housing.

"it's a sensible policy to the extent that instead of government producing the housing, they incentivise the private market to produce it and that's working very well, collaborations between housing providers and participants that produce sort of bespoke outcomes," he said.
Working party member Jan Gouma, whose son Curt is an NDIS participant, said Mr Barry's input had been valuable, particularly in exploring how participants could have the chance to buy their own home.
"I would like Curt to be a member of the community, not to be in a group of people with a disability because that to me is contrary to what the NDIS legislation is all about," she said. "It's about inclusion and not about segregation."
The group will consult further with participants, families and stakeholders.
"We would like to really get a good idea of how many people there are out there that would be interested," Ms Gouma said.
