"Raise the Bar was an amazing experience. I learnt so much from the week and it was great to meet and learn from Indigenous athletes that have represented Australia like Angie Blackburn and Kyle Vander-Kuyp," he said.
"I really enjoyed the javelin session we had because that is the event I hope to represent Australia in one day."
Vander-Kuyp said the academy provides support to young Indigenous Australians looking to pursue their dreams and reach the Olympic Games.
"Raise the Bar not only helps Indigenous Australians to become better athletes, but it equips them with skills to pursue tertiary studies and gain employment," he said.
