Despite matches being completed at nearby Urana Road Oval and Bunton Park, play was called off at around 1pm at the sportsground.
The clash was declared a draw with both sides being awarded three points.
It is believed Lavington and Belvoir will ask for six points with the pennant committee's decision particularly crucial to the Eagles as they are fighting for a spot in the top six.
Panther coach Daryl Tuffey admitted there was confusion at the ground but declined to comment further.
Belvoir was 3-82 off 26.5 overs when play was abandoned with star opener David Farrell looking ominous on 44 not out.
CAW Hume matches were abandoned on Saturday morning with the temperature predicted to reach 44 degrees at Lockhart.
