Albury's Jack Abbruzzese has come home with a sliver medal in hand after the State Combined Little Athletics Championships in Melbourne on the weekend.

Abbruzzese went up against 120 other young athletes in the under-11 boy's age group, competing in five events.
The competition, held at Lakeside Stadium, required athletes to compete in five to seven events with points awarded after each round.

The youngster excelled in his favoured event, hurdles, before posting a personal best time in the 800m to help him secure the silverware.
Fellow Albury Little Athletics youngster Tanamai Srizom was unlucky to miss out on a bronze medal by one point in her first state event, with the club sending nine athletes to compete.
All finished among the top 20 in their age groups.
The athletes now prepare to contest the Northern Country Region Carnival.
