Convicted double killer Warren Forbes has been fined after being caught trying to swallow 30 grams of ecstasy after crashing a car on the Hume Highway.
The 47-year-old appeared in the Shepparton Magistrates Court last week after recently being arrested at Longwood.
He had crashed his vehicle into a safety barrier and police arrested him on outstanding warrants.
Officers placed Forbes into the back of a divisional van, and saw him on security camera footage putting his hands down his pants and "acting in an unusual manner".
They pulled over the police car and checked on him, and noticed he had something in his mouth.
