The director of Riverina catholic schools, including those in Albury, has resigned following an independent review into internal leadership structures at the education board.

The director of schools at the Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga (CEDWW) Mark MacLean cited personal reasons for his departure from the office.
Archbishop of Canberra Goulburn, Reverend Christopher Prowse announced the changes to the CEDWW on Monday.
It follows a review of systems, processes and culture at the CEDWW which was conducted by KB West Advisory.
"Towards the end of last year many members of the community and staff wrote to me and asked me to review the operations of CEDWW to ensure we uphold the best aspects of this educational tradition," the Archbishop said.
As part of the review, Archbishop Prowse recommended a full investigation of policies and procedures in place at the CEDWW, "particularly in relation to HR and the support to principals and schools".
But the Archbishop also stressed that the recommendations "do not directly relate to matters pertaining to Kildare Catholic College" in Wagga.
Last year, Kildare principal Rod Whelan's sudden withdrawal from the school after six years at the helm, sent shockwaves through the school community.

Moving forward, the advisory team will implement an education commission in the diocese which will "guide the leadership and governance of the CEDWW," a spokesperson said.
Operating under the Archbishop, it is understood the independent advisory will also be instrumental in recruiting a new director of schools.
Until a replacement can be sought, the Archbishop has appointed an interim management committee consisting of Father Kevin O'Reilly as apostolic administrator's delegate, Dennis Purcell as Wagga-based business manager, Helen Delahunty as Canberra and Goulburn-based business manager.
