Brown has been restricted with the ball due to a hip injury, but didn't let that worry him with bat in hand as he blasted 67 from 48 balls to set up a 63-run triumph for the Panthers.

His knock included four sixes and seven fours as Lavington reached 9-189.

However, they found themselves reeling at 8-119 when he was joined at the crease by Mick Galvin.

The pair put on 61, with just five coming off the bat of Galvin, highlighting Brown's dominance.

"I got to sit up the other end and watch him go to town, which was good fun," Galvin said.

"I think we'd lost 3-0 and Nathan was battling a hip injury and was batting a bit lower.

"I tried to hold up an end until he got his eye in and thankfully it worked.

"One over he hit three straight sixes (off Sahib Malhotra) and he was hitting right to the changerooms."

Galvin added it was one of the best wins he's been a part of, paying tribute to the performance of 15-year-old debutant Oscar Lyons who made 26 in a key partnership with opener Matt Tom (46), while young wicketkeeper Brady Marshall also impressed on debut.

"Oscar has been making a heap of runs in the twos and looked really comfortable with the bat," Galvin said.

"Brady was a late call-up with the gloves, but it will be hard to drop him because he looked right as rain."

Albury all but secured a finals berth after a five-wicket win against North Albury to move to fourth spot.

The Hoppers were restricted to 9-168, with Albury skipper Ross Dixon taking 3-34 and guiding his side home with 48 off the bat.

Jarryd Hatton's return from Canberra wasn't enough to inspire St Patrick's to victory against East Albury.

The paceman, recovering from a back injury, finished with tidy figures of 0-10 from five as the Crows passed St Patrick's total of 8-191 with four wickets in hand.

Wodonga were comfortable five-wicket winners against New City, while Belvoir (5-140) made light work of the chase against Wodonga Raiders (137).
