OPERA'S favourite mezzo Sally-Anne Russell will head a lineup of classical musicians at the Albury Fire-aid Gala Concert this weekend.

Russell will join violinist Kaori Sparks and some of Albury's finest musicians in a varied concert of sparkling solos, duets and ensembles at St Matthew's Church in Albury.
A winner of an ARIA people's choice award, Russell's international highlights include Oper der Stadt Koln, Washington Opera (DC), 10 seasons at the Carmel Bach Festival (California), Spoleto Festival (Italy) and in Canada, Japan and Austria.
She has performed with the greats: Luciano Pavarotti, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Sir Bryn Terfel, Sir Andrew Davis, Simone Young, Richard Bonynge and Sumi Jo.

Russell has performed in more than 20 countries in more than 70 operatic roles.
She has 40 CD and DVD recordings with ABC Classics, CHANDOD, NAXOS and DECCA labels.
Last year Russell performed with the Melbourne and Auckland Symphony Orchestras, at Vivaldi in the Vines in Adelaide, did concerts in Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart and Devonport, plus a series of concerts in Austria and Germany.
ABC's Gaye Pattison will compere the event on Sunday.
All proceeds will help fire-impacted communities and Rotary Club Belvoir Wodonga/Blaze Aid-rebuilding fences at Corryong.
Tickets cost $20 and are available from St Matthew's office and on the day at the door.
