Pemberton View residents Edna Galvin and Leo Nelson may have moved in almost 12 years apart but there are common themes as to their choice of residence.

Proximity to Dean Street, a quiet location and feeling safe are among the shared reasoning for their choice of this retirement community.

Mrs Galvin moved in to Pemberton View in West Albury nearly 12 years ago while for Mr Nelson it was in June 2019.

"I was looking for a religious-owned village - the gardens impressed my late husband and we knew a lot of the residents," Mrs Galvin said.

"I was looking for a quiet location and feeling safe (was important)."

When asked what she liked most about the village, Mrs Galvin said it was the proximity to Dean Street as well as the friendly staff and residents.

"The residents are very friendly and it feels like you are a part of a family with them," she said.

"I feel very supported by knowing I have the facilities of Dellacourt and Yallaroo when I need extra care.

"I love living here and feel safe and surrounded by friends."

Mr Nelson said he was looking for a quiet village close to Dean Street and he also had several friends also residing in Pemberton View.

"All houses are different with beautiful gardens and the boulevard is lined with trees," he said.

"It is also a safe environment - one big family."

Mr Nelson said he felt supported by other residents and it was a very happy community.

He also agreed that he could live his own life and come and go as he pleased while being a resident there.

"Visitors cannot believe the gardens are so beautiful," he said.

"It has close promimity to Albury private hospital and medical services in Ramsay Place and it's five minutes to Dean Street."

Pemberton View comprises 35 two and three-bedroom houses.

All houses have access to outside garden and patio areas.

Plus there is ample internal living space as well as modern kitchens.

The well-maintained lush gardens always seem to be putting on a beautiful display.

And if you need it, additional personal care and support services can be organised at any time though Lutheran Aged Care home care programs.
