The Wanderers take on Macedon United Blues at Park Avenue Reserve in their first official hit-out of the pre-season.
Skipper Jayson Ferguson will make the trip, along with the likes of Liam and Cody Walsh.
Best and fairest winner Cayne Wilhelm and goalkeeper Rohan Pearce are unavailable.
Coach Shaun Wilhelm also won't be travelling with the group due to a representative tournament in Bathurst with AWFA's under-13 boys, but is expecting a good hit-out for his side.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"We're taking a squad of 14 down there, pretty much just who's available at the moment," he said.
"We've got a couple of guys that will have a first taste of FFA Cup action, which will be good.
"We've got a young guy who came across from St Pats, Jarrod Anderson. He's just turned 17 and he'll get his first crack at senior football this weekend."
Wilhelm is unsure what they'll get from Macedon United.
"They won (State League) Metro 5, but it's a bit hit and miss down in those lower leagues," he added.
"We're not really worried about who they are, it's more about getting a run in the legs for our AWFA season starting in four weeks time.
"You can play AWFA in practice games, but I believe you get more out of playing other teams in Melbourne in a competitive environment than a local friendly."
Kick-off is at 4.30pm.
