Many people have contributed their time, talents and experience in service to Lutheran Aged Care since its inception in 1960, says managing director Wendy Rocks.
"Those people were preparing for the future, continually discerning what that future may look like, what government and environmental changes would impact, what the expectations of the frail elderly and their families would be, how to prepare financially to meet all of those demands in the future and much more.
"The evidence is all around us at Lutheran Aged Care, that those that went before were up to the task and have built strong foundations and are indeed shoulders on which we can stand.
"It is our turn now, and we too have been occupied with planning and building for the future."
This year The Arrunga project will break soil to replace the current Arrunga buildings on the Dellacourt site.
This will include some renovation of that site, as well as creating a more integrated site that enables staff to better deliver services.
The design and documentation part of the project is complete, and the Development Application secured.
"The delivery of services in the future will continue to meet rising consumer expectations," chairman Phillip Edwards said.
"Technology will play a big part, supporting both carers and residents with innovative care solutions.
"'Hands-on' care is at the centre of resident care; however, technology is delivering data to assist with real-time monitoring of a residents' health and movements."
Lutheran Aged Care utilises the skills of an in-house IT Support Officer, along with specialist external support, to implement and manage the latest technology across all facilities.
This strong commitment to innovation is supported by training and development of staff. "The learning and development department supports staff in their professional development, enhancing skills and knowledge. The aged care industry is ever-changing and Lutheran Aged Care will no doubt evolve over time," he said.
"Importantly, the mission in the future is the same as in the past - to continue providing innovative and progressive aged care, healthcare and wellbeing with passion."
