Brennan has followed former coach Joel Price to the Kyabram District Football League where he will be reunited with Northern Territory teammates William Farrer and Jake Roe-Duggan.
The trio played in a Southern Districts premiership together.
Brennan arrived at Henty through his connection with Price two seasons ago and took out the club's best and fairest last year despite playing only 10 matches.
"We were happy to have Jared for 18 months," Swampie coach Heath Ohlin said.
"Players come and go and we wish him all the best.
"He came to Henty because of his ties with Joel Price and left for the same reasons.
"We will go on and be fine and I'm sure he will be fine down there.
"We're really happy with the players we have and we hope he's happy too."
Brennan, who is based on the Sunshine Coast, polled in each of his 10 matches for Henty last season including the maximum votes on five occasions.
The Swampies will field a new-look side with North Wagga premiership full-back Brayden Skeers, Barnawartha's Seamus Quinn and Rutherglen pair Sam Scott and Dylon Simpson among the inclusions.
Their chances of returning to the finals will be helped by an easier draw and Ohlin hoping to land at least one more recruit.
Price said Brennan was the best player he had seen in the Hume league and expects him to make a big impact in the Kyabram league.
"To get a bloke of the quality and experience of Jared is great for the town both on and off the field," Price said.
"The club has only won three games in the last two years so it's created a lot of excitement around the club."
Price indicated Brennan most likely retire at the end of 2020.
"I think he's keen to finish his career off with me and the Indigenous boys he played football with at Southern Districts," he said.
"'JB' was great for Henty and Henty great for him."
