Making the most of the early years

The importance of passionate, friendly and caring educators is firmly in the spotlight at Early Years Academy Thurgoona.
That's the message from the centre's owner Amy Holman.
Early Years Academy is well-established in the community.
"We achieved 'Exceeding' rating at the centre," Amy said.
"We offer a full preschool program for children aged four to five years old.
"Our philosophy recognises that a solid foundation provided in the early years is essential to the future health, wellbeing and development of all children throughout their lives."
The centre provides a full service including all meals and nappies.
"Training and education is one of our highest values and we strongly support our educators in staying up to date with innovative ways to incorporative learning into our daily curriculum for the children," she said.
The curriculum at Early Years Academy values learning through play.
This is the foundation for building on children's interests and development to create meaningful and engaging learning environments.
"Our curriculum supports each individual child's sense of agency, valuing the importance of individual needs and their milestones," Amy said.
"This is achieved through collaborative curriculum decision-making with families and is built upon the strengths of each other's knowledge."
