It's about being in power, not good government
I am not one to criticise politicians in general as most work hard and do what they believe is best for their community. But I have become increasingly sceptical about our current government and Prime Minister.

Their lack of honesty and integrity is eating into my faith in the democratic process. We all know the sports rorts was wrong. It was a scheme to buy votes. Bridget McKenzie has been dismissed as a Minister but neither she, nor the Prime Minister, will admit the dishonesty of the scheme.
The Prime Minister's Office was integrally involved. Another scheme has come to light where $150 million for women's sporting facilities has not been spent on those facilities but on swimming pools in targeted government electorates. This is another example of dishonesty in spending public money.
Minister Angus Taylor has been faced with serious charges of dishonestly fabricating exaggerated travel figures for a political opponent. We all know the wrong thing was done but again it has been covered up. There has also been evidence of drought relief money being mishandled, with some of it going to Councils that were not in drought. If this was an honest mistake why didn't the Prime Minister own up to the mistake. Was this another example of pork barrelling? Because of this dishonesty from the government I now start to question other expenditure as well. There are certainly huge issues around water allocation, trading in water and the annihilation of family farms.
I do not understand why people should be able to buy and trade water when they do not own any land. Who are the people who do this? How much do they make? Why won't the government have a Royal Commission into the Murray Darling Basin Plan? What have they got to hide?
It seems the Coalition is more concerned with being in government than in actually governing the country for the good of the people. People are suffering while money is mismanaged. Plans and projects for the long-term future of our country, including playing our part in dealing with climate change, addressing the housing crisis, developing a clear energy policy, developing the infrastructure for electric cars and transport, addressing the increasing number of people living below the poverty line, looking into the real reasons our education system is falling behind, to name a few.
I am worried by the lies, by the dishonesty, by the lack of integrity and the lack of transparency in hiding public documents and threatening journalists. It is about time the Coalition started to govern this country ethically, honestly and for the future.

Galahs are a pest
I could not help but write in about the complaints of the birds culled at the Commercial Club golf course.
These cockatoos (galahs) are a pest same as rabbits, foxes, mice and deer destroying our crops, fruit trees, rice crops. There are millions in Australia and they destroy your lawn by eating the roots. They also attack other native birds killing canaries, parrots and anything they think is threat to them.
The golf course greens and fairways must have been under attack and l am sure the club would have thought long and hard before making their decision. Some people need to get their rose-coloured glasses off and think before they act.
