Forrest Hill navigated early trouble against Wodonga Larrikins before going on to complete a hard fought win.
Joan Landy and Di Wurtz played well for the winners, while Kendall Oats and Di Larkin were good for Larrikins.
In the men's, Mick Reid, Ben Tari and Rodney Wurtz stood tall in the final two stanzas to hold out Forrest Hill Eagles by five games, with Lachlan Graetz in fine touch.
Brendan Liddell, Sam Allen and Michael Rutledge were solid from the outset in their defeat of St Patricks/Diggerville Chill, with ladder leaders SPD Hilfiger too strong for Wodonga Bulldogs.
In section two, Wodonga Bushrangers defeated Forrest Hill Wombats by eight games.
John McVean, Terry McDonnell, Steve O'Connell and Tyson Arentz combined well throughout, with Peter Penny and Ben Lynch claiming two sets for Wombats.
David Lake finished with three sets in Forrest Hill Galahs' five sets to three victory over Sacred Heart Gold.
Graham Wurtz, Steve Bell and Hayden McIntosh provided back up, with Brendan Hoffman best for his team.
Albury Blue's campaign gained momentum, taking the points from Wodonga Raiders.

In section three, Wodonga Pirates snatched the close sets, including two tie breaks, to defeat Thurgoona Bears.
Simon Farrell and Cooper McIntosh were in great touch all day, with Noel Browne and Tony Hosie best for their side.
Wodonga Knights took the points against Albury Blue in a tight battle.
Paul Tamburini, Chris Rokahr, James Plested and Jack Lidgerwood combined well, with Jericho Elleo and Baden Girvan best for Blue.
An outstanding team effort from Forrest Hill Tigers saw them defeat Thurgoona Wolves, with Albury Gold too strong for Forrest Hill Blues.
Comprehensive singles wins to Ryan and Blake Tinworth gave SPD Purple a solid lead before completing victory over SPD Gold in section four.
Harry Semmler lent a hand, while Rob Oliver claimed two sets for Gold.
Wodonga Bears bagged the points over SPD Green.
Strong contributions from Lucas Karthauser and Jack Jankauskas saw Lavington Phoenix triumphant over Scots Gold.
SPD Yellow comfortably accounted for Albury/Scots Lions, with Thurgoona Lions likewise over Albury/Scots Blue.
In section five, Albury/Scots Eagles defeated Albury/Scots Vixens.
Lachlan Baitch and David Gilksman were strong, as was Isabelle Smith.
SPD Black defeated Albury/Scots Tigers, while Albury/Scots Cats, SPD Orange and Forrest Hill Lions were also winners.
