The cancellation of the Tokyo Marathon sent Jared and Justin Kahlefeldt to Wangaratta where they ran the quinella, finish first and second in the 42.2 kilometre event.
Jared held off his younger brother by a minute, with both running personal best times of 2:39.58 and 2:41.02.
"It was a really good day. For a small local event they had really good numbers and it was a really good event," Kahlefeldt said.
"It was quite a fast course. Me and my little brother Justin went out there to have a crack at a decent time and thankfully we got one.
"We had different goals going into Tokyo next week but to come through and do them on a course like Wangaratta, even though it was flat and relatively fast, it's still not as quick as what Tokyo would have been so we were both really rapt with our times."
