Having played Lola in Albury Wodonga Theatre Company's Kinky Boots and on the Gold Coast this summer, Kebe will take on the title role in Othello for The Other Theatre Company in Albury during March.
The show's producer, Peter Uniacke, said Kebe was not originally cast in the role.
"However, he was up for the challenge and answered the call when unfortunately our original actor was forced to pull out of the production due to unexpected circumstances," he said.
"He is a fantastic Othello, and we really appreciate his dedication and enthusiasm so quickly stepping into the breach for us."
The Other Theatre Company will offer its seventh Shakespeare in Albury Botanic Gardens on March 6-7, 13-14.
Othello - the Moor of Venice follows the tragic course of events that befall the title character.
