A couple in their 80s have been robbed at knifepoint when walking out of their hotel room in Lavington.

Police say the 80-year-old woman opened the room door in the Wagga Road hotel where they were staying at about 9.20pm on Wednesday.
She was planning on heading down to retrieve an item from her car.
As she opened the door, two unknown men armed with knives threatened the woman and took the keys from her hand.
The 82-year-old man then kicked and punched one of the men, before the attackers threatened him with the knife and he retreated back into the hotel room.

The two men fled the scene on foot and no one was injured.
They have been described as Aboriginal in appearance, with a slight build and were both wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident.
Police have appealed for any witnesses who saw the men after the attempted armed robbery.
