Dealer principal for Twin Cities' Holden seller McRae Motors, Michael Blomeley said there had been big demand for the Lion marque since its end was flagged.
"We've been inundated with inquiries and we've been selling lots of Holdens," Mr Blomeley said.
He said based on the existing rate of sales, the final Holden could be sold before June 30 but regardless he predicts the last model will sell well before the end of the year.
He said news of the demise Holden was a shock, but not wholly unexpected given GM had already exited other right-hand drive countries such as India, South Africa, Japan and Britain.
"Right-hand drive is the big problem," Mr Blomeley said.
"It's a tooling issue, unfortunately Holden couldn't put forward a viable business case to General Motors and they pulled out."
Asked if he thought Holden would have continued in Australia if we had left-hand drive cars, Mr Blomeley said "100 per cent, absolutely".
McRae Motors has a connection to Holden sales through its Albury predecessors Brian White Motors and Preston Motors back to the 1940s.
Wodonga also had its own dealership, Scotty Taylor Holden, that traded in the 1980s before closing.
Mr Blomeley has been a director/dealer principal at McRae for 17 years and said news that Holden would be no more was "heart-breaking to be honest".
"It was almost like supporting a footy club for some people," he said.
"It's really left a hole there, some people live and breathe Holden, so to see that ending - it's a bit of a surreal feeling to be honest."
However, Mr Blomeley said McRae Motors would still service Holdens and sell Kia and Nissan vehicles.
He also stressed McRae Motors would continue its community involvement through sponsorships, which include supporting the Ovens and Murray Football and Netball League.
As official motor vehicle partner, it supplies vehicles for grand final day laps by retiring players and dignitaries.
O&M general manager Sean Barrett has used a Holden Colorado from McRae Motors.
